Book Review: “Marissa Mayer And The Fight To Save Yahoo!” By Nicholas Carlson (2015, 368 Pages)
The fight to save Marissa often seems as strong as the fight to save Yahoo!
Nicholas Carlson is Business Insider‘s chief correspondent.
The first forty percent of “Marissa Mayer And The Fight To Save Yahoo!” covers Yahoo’s story before Marissa Mayer; the following thirty percent covers Mayer’s story before Yahoo!; and the remaining 30 percent covers Mayer’s management of Yahoo!
The book is a lively, very informative and fairly analytical take on Yahoo’s history since its inception.
The first part, which covers the first twenty years of the Company, is no less interesting than the section that recounts Mayer’s tenure. It shows the decline, first imperceptible and then inexorable, of a company that was once everyone’s gateway to the web.
RATING: B.
