Book Review: “No Rules Rules: Netflix And The Culture Of Reinvention” By Reed Hastings And Erin Meyer (2020, 320 pages)
The best management book of the year.
Reed Hastings is the the co-founder, chairman, and co-CEO of Netflix. Erin Meyer is a professor at INSEAD, one of the leading international business schools. She is the author of “The Culture Map: Breaking Through The Invisible Boundaries Of Global Business.”
“No Rules Rules” presents Netflix’s culture through Reed Hastings’ vision, Erin Meyer’s investigation within the Company, and testimonials from many of its managers and employees.
The diversity of voices in this book make the presentation of Netflix’s culture much more interesting than if it had only been laid out by Reed Hastings. In addition to his explanations, the book benefits from Erin Meyer’s theoretical developments and insights from Netflix employees on how they experience the Company’s culture on a daily basis.
This makes the book as attractive in terms of presentation as it is thought-provoking in terms of contents.
