The Management Lesson Of Mark Zuckerberg And Sheryl Sandberg
Facebook’s COO recently gave the commencement speech at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (China).
She recounted that, when she joined Facebook in 2007, she knew that her performance would largely depend on her relationship with Mark Zuckerberg.
So she asked him to give her feedback every week. He agreed and requested that the feedback be reciprocal.
For some years, Sandberg and Zuckerberg met every Friday afternoon to share the concerns related to their working relationship.
Eventually, the mutual and transparent exchange of feedback became a reality on a daily basis and they no longer needed their Friday meetings.
Trust is undoubtedly the foundation of effective cooperation. We knew that trust is earned. Sandberg and Zuckerberg show us that it can be learnt.
